The Secret

The worldwide best selling book, and now DVD - 'The Secret' was something I have heard a lot of marketing and hype about. The book by Rhonda Byrne and the following DVD by Prime Time Productions have received plenty of coverage - both positive and negative.

If you haven't seen or read 'The Secret' - the basic principle revolves around the 'Law of Attraction'.

Initially I was skeptical, fearing just another 'self help' type scam - however after hearing several of the scientists and researchers discuss the theory of attraction and how it relates to frequencies of the mind I became quite interested.

I would certainly recommend a read of the book, or a look at the DVD - even if this kind of stuff usually isn't your cup of tea - it will get you thinking.

Many self help publications preach - 'believe and achieve!', 'think and it will come' so to speak, however 'The Secret' is the first matter to explain the science of the thought patterns.

In it's simplest explanation - it's pretty much, 'Positive Thinking' - but it really rams home the power of this mindset.

The evolution of 'The Secret' and its supposed knowledge throughout history seems a little far-fetched, the story suggesting the powers of yesteryear dating way back to the ancient Babylonians through to Albert Einstein - all having secret knowledge of the power. This stuff was very wishy washy, but I can image this really added to the theater and hype surrounding the release of the publication.

Summary - an eye opening insight into 'The Law of Attraction', providing some scientific backup to the theory. I came away feeling very motivated and keen to put some of the thoughts into practice.

Would love to hear from people who have seen or read 'The Secret' - so feel free to comment on this post with your thoughts (good or bad) on the Secret.
