American Express don't help on Buyers Advantage

With my Tech Plasma televsion totally dead and a hefty repair bill pending, I phone American Express and get things rolling in regards to my 'Buyers Advantage' setup.

Specifically purchasing my Plasma Television on my Gold Amex, I assumed I would have an 'extra' years warranty on the TV. Oh how wrong I was.

Customer support from American Express was terrible. Poor english from the call centre operator, followed by a totally unsympatheic approach - and then a failure to totally explain 'what' coverage I have.

I was nearly ready to cancel the card on the spot, I still may do this in the weeks ahead.

It seems the coverage I had was for the first 90 days of owning the new electrical item. Yay, what a big deal.

Pretty sad that an item like a big screen plasma television lasts only 2 years. I am having it looked at hopefully next week, but it seems even if basic parts are needed cost and labour will be pretty high.

So yeah lesson learned, Amex fail you in times of need and always take the STORES extra warranty...
