Merry Christmas everyone! As 2007 is coming to an end, I thought I would look back over my first year in blogging and mention the major points in whats been an interesting journey!
March 2007: Start blogging with my first sports blog NRL News. A daily blog discussion on Rugby League, launched on the Blogger.com platform I would soon after register my own domain www.NRLnews.com
April 2007: My NRL website begins to get a decent amount of hits. Mostly direct hits (non-search engine traffic) So I implement AdSense and was able to make $5 a day from this website.
June 2007: After enjoying on-going AdSense revenues, I decided to expand my blogroll and create several other sites that would bring in additional income from AdSense. So DOTA Tips was born, dedicated to the Warcraft 3 game - DOTA. What started as a very basic blog, now receives over 700 unique hits per day and brings in impressive AdSense dollars and also is an affiliate earner through Azoogle Ads.
July 2007: Google awards my sites new PageRanks. NRL News now becomes a PageRank5, DOTA Tips becomes PageRank 2 and several of my 'throw away' blogs get PageRank. (6 blogs received PageRank 3 or below which was a surprise)
August 2007: Doctor tells me I have 30 days to live. I sign on for Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge (www.thirtydaychallenge.com) and I have proved all the doctors wrong. I live happily and healthy 4 months on. The 30 Day Man (this blog) is born.
September 2007: My true introduction to the blogging world. I discover the likes of Problogger, Shoemoney, John Chow and countless others. I start using an RSS reader daily and upgrade my goals on what the earning potentials are of my blogroll.
October 2007: The 30 Day Man armed with a PageRank 4 starts signing RSS subscribers. Approaching 40 subscribers.
November 2007: Total blogroll earnings over $10 a day now ($70US per week) and the future is exciting. RSS readers hit 50 and Tyler Cruz dot com reviews The 30 Day Man on his popular personal blog.
December 2007: Through additional promotions such as EntreCard and some SEO Experiments - 30 Day Man's hits approach 200 uniques per day.
And guess what? I am still alive and kicking. Proving all those doctors wrong.
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Merry Christmas!
