I'm sure you've heard it before; "Money makes Money!"
And it certainly has a lot of truth to it. When I got started in websites, I was always trying to turn a profit without outlaying any capital at all. While keeping costs down is smart, there comes a time when you need decent finance behind you to kick things along.
I've used various forms of finance in the past, from my credit union (basic personal loans) through to more recently using an online company for fast finance to grow my businesses. While the interest rate from the credit union was low, the approval process and red tape took a long time; which isn't ideal. When using online companies for loans it was the opposite, the approval process was much quicker - although I had to put up with a slightly higher rate of interest.
The injection of cash allowed me to arrange new PPC campaigns and setup 'real world' advertising for some of my websites. My NRL site, which talks about Rugby League benefited extremely well from a roadside advertising campaign in Australia. I used the finance to hire a signwriter and billboard company to setup some effective road side advertising signage.
Targeting morning and afternoon peak hour road traffic I got a massive response and a lot of my new web visitors became regular visitors - boosting my loyalty rates big time on Google Analytics.
The result? It simply meant more site traffic and with my boosted visitor stats in hand, I could approach advertisers directly for my site. During the winter months in the southern hemisphere, I have regular sporting outlets advertising their real world stores through my NRL Rugby League website. The income from this is several hundred times higher than what I earn with AdSense during the off-season. It's a no-brainer.
So my point here is; don't be scared to take advantage of finance and loans where possible. Maybe using mortgages might be a bit extreme, but certainly fast finance and unsecured loans are effective. Borrow to boost your interner empire, the risk is worth the rewards.
